Das Knowledge Management Education Forum (KMEF) ist ein Dialogforum zur Gewinnung einer gemeinsamen Sichtweise und eines Curriculums zur Aus- und Weiterbildung im Wissensmanagement. 2011

Das KMEF 2011 Communique fasst die gemeinsamen Überzeugungen der Community-Mitglieder zusammen:[1]

  • Wissensmanagement ist eine kontinuierliche Aktivität für eine Lernende Organisation (kein Projekt, keine Einführung), es braucht Zeit und wird für jede Organisation anders aussehen.
  • Wissensmanagement muss immer die Organisationsziele unterstützen.
  • Vier generelle Typen von Wissensmanagement-Funktionen[2] sind notwendig (strategic level functions, business-aligned functions, specialized knowledge management functions, universal knowledge management functions)
  • Erfolgreiche "knowledge management professionals" sind oft die, die die richtige Balance zwischen der "art and science of knowledge management" herstellen können.
  • Wissensmanagement-Weiterbildung ist keine ein,alige Aktivität, sie benötigt kontinuierliche Erneuerung
  • Wissensmanagement-Karrierepfade sind für Individuen und Organisationen einzigartig (nicht standardisierbar)
  • Wissensmanagement Curriculum
    • Ein externes "advisory board" ist essentiell, damit das Curriculum relevant bleibt
    • Theorie und Praxis sollten in jedem Kurs gemischt sein
    • Es existiert eine Vielzahl von Konzepten, Methoden und Modellen, die jeder Lerner kennen muss
