- Is there a customer for this knowledge?
- Are you clear what your knowledge asset is really about?
- Is there a community of practice relating to this subject?
- Is there existing material upon which you can base your knowledge asset?
- Look for general guidelines
- Build a checklist illustrated with examples and stories
- Include links to people
- Validate the guidlines
- Publish the knowledge asset
- Finally, keep it alive. Initiate a feedback and ownership process
